A doctor in public life
Dr. Shrikant Eknath Shinde was first elected to the Lok Sabha from Kalyan in 2014, at the age of 27, and has represented the constituency since then. Before entering politics he trained as a doctor, earning an MBBS and a Master of Surgery in Orthopaedics.
In Parliament he has served on committees dealing with health, defence, energy and, since September 2026, transport, tourism and culture. In the constituency, his work includes a medical assistance cell for people who need help with treatment.
